Tree trimming and removal in Coweta
Crown & Root Tree Service is locally owned in Tulsa, and Coweta is part of our regular service area, with no extra travel charge.
Coweta goes back further than most towns around Tulsa. Koweta Mission was founded here in 1843, years before the Civil War, and the town took its name from a Muscogee (Creek) town back in Georgia. It stayed a farming community for a long time, and now it’s growing fast, with new neighborhoods filling in between the older farms.
Coweta has taken two tornadoes in recent years. In October 2019 an EF-1 with winds around 85 to 90 mph cut a 7.2-mile path starting near town, blowing down trees and power poles. On October 10, 2021, another EF-1 came through the middle of town around 10:45 at night, near Coweta High School. Afterward the city opened a site at the wastewater plant for tree limbs and branches only, for residents who could show they lived in Coweta.
The everyday calls follow the same split as the town. Newer lots need young trees shaped so they hold up to wind. Acreage is a different job: fence lines grown into a solid wall of trees, limbs hanging over barns and shops, and the occasional tree that’s been dead for a few years and needs to come down before it lands on something.

Questions from Coweta homeowners
How much does tree removal cost in Coweta?
Coweta jobs run from young trees in new neighborhoods to big dead trees on acreage. A dead tree with nothing around it can often be dropped whole, which is quicker; the same tree beside a barn, a shop or a power line comes down in pieces. Storm-snapped trees, like the ones the 2019 and 2021 tornadoes left, take more rigging. Size, condition and access set the price; stump grinding and haul-away are included, and there’s no travel charge to the acreage around town.
Will Coweta pick up a tree that fell in my yard?
Only if it’s on public land or blocking a street. A tree on your property is yours to clear. After the October 2021 tornado, Coweta opened a site at the wastewater plant for limbs and branches, residents only with ID, but you still had to cut it up and haul it there yourself. When we do it, the tree is cut, loaded and gone the same day.
When is the best time to trim trees in Coweta?
Late winter for most trees in Coweta: the leaves are down, the structure is easy to see, and the cuts seal fast once spring growth starts. That’s also the time to shape young trees in the new neighborhoods before they fork. Oaks on the acreage are best done in the dead of winter. Dead trees can come down any time, and the sooner the better.
Is it better to trim a tree or cut it down in Coweta?
A healthy tree almost always costs less to trim than to remove. A dead one is different: after a few years it turns brittle and drops big limbs, and trimming it only puts off a removal that gets harder the longer it stands. On acreage, a fence line grown into a wall of trees is usually cheaper to clear in one go than to trim back year after year.
Who do I call when a tree falls on my house in Coweta?
If anyone is hurt, a wire is down or you smell gas, call 911 first and stay clear. Then call us: our emergency team is typically on site within 1 to 2 hours. We make the house safe, cut up and haul off the tree, and help with the insurance claim.
When should a dead tree be removed?
As soon as it can reach something: a house, a barn, a shop, a fence or a power line. A tree that’s been dead a few years gets brittle and can drop big limbs without warning. We take it down in pieces when something is close and haul it all off.
